(Neuro-liguistic Programming)
A few years back, I discovered NLP when I attended a NLP practitioner training arranged by the founder and trainer of Leading Edge, Alf Inge Stiansen. I experienced the NLP techniques to be so powerful both in business and my private life so I decided to attend a NLP Master Practitioner program. My final assignment was to identify and analyze my best employees at the time to see if I could find some common aspects to what made them so good and also was it possible to make model that other employees could follow to have the same result. And yes and matter in fact there is several similarities placed in the logical levels, that explains the natural hierarchy of the experience of by each individual. I also found that the best employees have similarities in their “Meta program”
A Meta program is an “underlying definition or a description”, and in this case not in terms of personality but a description of how people think, sort information and operate in a specific situation, and refers to mental processes.
I offer one to one coaching and training for larger groups:
NLP techniques is very effective in terms of how you experience your model of the world and since your reality get shaped by our thoughts and feelings these techniques can practically change your entire life. NLP techniques can among other things be used for
- Synchronizing your values when you have difficult important decisions to make
- Change your behavior in stressful situations to a more expedient approach
- If you have limiting believes NLP can help you alter the way you address your thinking.
- Make you aware of how you communicate to your surroundings both in a verbal and nonverbal way and then use simple NLP techniques to make you get along with almost anyone crossing your path using rapport
- NLP has powerful tools to help you reach your goals
- There are ways to help people cover from trauma and phobias can be cured
- The techniques can also be used to recover positive emotional response by anchoring them through a certain fraise or sensation.
- Analyze mental strategies by experts in other fields than your own and copy them for you to have the same result

NLP History
Neuro-Linguistic programming was was created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California in USA during the 70`is. They discovered a link betwen neurological processes (neuro-), language (linguistic) and patterns in the way we behave. These patterns are learned through our actions and experiences throughout life, and they can easily be altered deliberately by using different NLP techniques. We use NLP to change our state of mind, we experience a different and more appropriate behavior / mindset in terms of achieving our goals in business and in life in general. NLP can also be used to treat phobias and mild forms of depression.
In NLP there is also methods for modeling the skills of exceptional experts (in their field), allowing others to acquire the same sets of skills by identifying and copying their model.
NLP can be really powerful in the way of changing how you experience your model of the world. And since our mindset and emotions creates our reality this means that these techniques can contribute to altering your entire life.
State of mind:
This model is effective in terms of increasing the achievement and changing the outcome in any given situation: Client meetings, making speeches, talking to staff, preparing for a sports event og just to be present with your friends or family.
The state of mind you have will affect the quality of the outcome of a situation every time.
NLP Presuppositions
NLP is based on a set of basic believes and assumptions that acts like a base to create change within oneself and in others:
-Mental processes: We do not experience the world as it is, we experience our own model of the world. “ The map is not the territory”. We do have respect for other people’s model of the world. It is me who control my mind, and through this my behavior and actions
-Human behavior and response: It is a positive intent behind every behavior. The excising behavior may not always be the best to achieve what you want. But people make the best choice available at any given time. We all have the recourses we need to achieve our goal. There are no people without recourses, just state of mid without resources. Mind and body are connected.
-Communication: There is no such thing as fiasco, just feedback. The way you communicate is a reflection of the response you get. If you do not get the response you want, try something else. Resistance is a sign of insufficient Rapport. Flexible people and organizations have an advantage over less flexible.
Rapport
A well established Rapport is the base of all successful communication between people. The NLP techniques we use to help establish Rapport is quite simple to execute, and they will help you get along with basically anyone you meet. There are many ways to establish a good Rapport, but the most basic techniques are to copy the other persons body language, and follow the breathing pattern, the tempo and tone of voice in way the other person communicate. If a person cross their legs during the conversation, you do so as well. If the other person speaks fast, you do so as well. But make sure to do so in a natural way without exaggerating and don't forget to listen. Often pause that one second is making room for that other person to empty what is on their mind in full.
